Since the independence of Bangladesh until 1989, there was no higher educational institution on the headquarters of Adamdighi Upazilla under Bogra district. In early 1990, the former Upazilla Chairman, late Abdur Razzak along with the people from all walks of life felt the importance of higher education necessary and with the donation of landed property and financial co-operation from the family members of the late Rahim Uddin from kalaikuri village under the same Upazilla, it was decided to establish a Higher Secondary College and to make the contribution of Rahim Uddin family memorable the college was named as Adamdighi Rahim Uddin College. The college started functioning on the 17th of August 1990. His (Rahim Uddin's) qualified son, A.T.M Nazibuzzaman was appointed as the principal of the college. With his sincere efforts and with the co-operation of the skilled managing committee the college got affiliated by the Rajshai Education Board in 1991 and in a consecutive manner it was affiliated by the National University in 1996.
