The history of Ramapl Govt. College (Bagerhat) Establishment of Rampal Govt. College: Ramapl College was established at Ramapl Upazilla under Bgerhat district in1968 on the basin of Mongla River. It’s aim was to kindle the light of education among the educationally backward people. The total area of Rampal College is 4.62 acre. Founder of the College: The establishment of an institution like a college is not an easy task. Overcoming all the odds and difficulties, the noble minded man who took a mission to kindle the light of education among the illiterate people of this area are Alhaj Abdul Goni, Alhaj Abu Bakar Siddique,Izardar Ali Ashraf, Izardar Iman Ali, Izardar Abu Bakar, Mollick Abdul Hadi, Janardhan Mondal, Babu Dijendralal Roy,Babu Sudahngshu Shekhor Biswas, Dr. Abdul Goni, Kazi Sahadat Hossain, Sk. Akbar Hossain, Dr. Johurul Haque, Alhaj Insan Udddin, Sk. Farid Uddin, Alhaj Principal Abu Bakar Siddique, Izardar Abdul Oahab, Sk. Khorshed Ahamed, Hasem Fakir, S.M. Abul Hossain, Abdus Samad(Circle Officer),Motier Rahman( Police Officer),Osman Goni(Education Officer).They sacrificed their time energy and money and the college is the result of their supreme sacrifice. Donors of the Land: Land is a pre-conditon for the establishment of an institution. The hero-like ,noble minded donor who put an example of great sacrifice by giving their land for the college are Alhaj Abu Bakar Siddique, Kazi Sahadat Hossain, Sk. Aminuddin, Sk. Shafij Uddin, Master Kohinoor Sheikh, Sk. Farid Uddin, Babu Jadab Chandra Mistry, Babu Akhmoy Kumar Mistry, Babu Shital Chandra Mistry, Jotindra Nath Mistry, Babu Pulin MoJumdar,Babu Narayan Chandra Mistry, Babu Roben Dakua, Alhaj Abdur Rahim, Izardar Iman Ali, Ismail Vander, Hassan Mohammad Sohidullah. Infrastructural Development: In the opening period of the college, there was no concrete house. Classes were run in a wood-made house. But in 1997,construction work of a three storeyed building was founded by the honorable Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Alhaj Talukder Abdul Khaleq. It was financed by the facilities department and honorable Mayor of Khulna City Alhaj Talukder Abdul Khaleq inaugurated the Bhaban in 1999. Besides these, there is a common room girls, Science Department, Residence of the Principal, a library, a hostel and a beautiful mosque. Subjects that are Taught: 32 subjects have been taught at Rampal College. There are Humanities Department ,Science Department and Business Education Department in the intermediate level and B.S.S.,B.B.S. and B.A. in Degree level. Besides this, there is Business Management Department under Bangladesh Technical Education Board. The college code of National University is 0104,Jessore Board Code -4425 and Technical Education Board code-36036. Teachers and employees: There are 39 teachers along with Principal and vice Principal who took a great role in imparting education in the college. There are three third class employees and ten fourth class employees in this institution. Other Facilities: There is a well-decorated Computer Laboratory with ten Computers where students and teachers can get various service. There is a scanner, two printers and twenty four hours internet facilities in the Computer Laboratory. H.S.C. Exam is held regularly in this college since 1972.There are 800 students who are studying at this time in the college. The College is run by a Governing Body and the Chairman of the Governing Body is honorable Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Alhaj Talukder Abdul Khaleq.
